Hi there. I seem to be suffering from anxiety/panic the last few months, after having thyroid troubles. I have posted here a few times about different symptoms and things, and have always found you all very helpful, and im looking for more advice now!
Does anyone get a strange feeling in chest? And could this also be another wonderful anxiety symptom? Its weird, I dont get breathless, no pain, just a strange feeling. I'll be just getting on with something, and out of the blue, i feel strange in my chest, kind of weak, even slightly numb feeling. It only lasts a few seconds, and sometimes its followed by some kind of flush/rush sensation in nexk/head/arms area, sometimes not. Its a kind of sinking feeling, and i do feel a bit panicky when it happens, like if i was sitting down, i want to jump up and ask someone "what was that!"
Ive been doing relatively ok the last 2 weeks, and now this, im sure ive maybe had it before, im just fixating on it for some reason just now, and a bit scared of it.
Thanks for any advice
Heather
could be a mild panic attack but get doc to check you out if it keeps happening
dont tense up or fight back against it
are you on paxil or effexor by any chance?
My chest gets an odd feeling as well but I have pretty muched blamed it on the meds I am taking...paxil being one of them.

take care

yeah paxil and effexor causes those feelings, which is why i refuse to ever take them again because i really didn't care for that too much. If i recall though the paxil never did that to me unless I forgot a dose, or when i stopped it cold turkey. [bad move i know]
But when on the effexor it would happen everyday, and I never skipped a dose.
