Thanks for the advice. I notice I get anxiety after eating sweets too. I didnt want to admit it but reading your post made alot of sense on why I get unexplayed little mini attacks throughout the day. I don't have social anxiety but the last 4 resteraunt visits I had I got an attack right before my food came. I think it was the heaps of sugar I put in my Iced Tea. Also the last "Im dying and have to go the Emergency room" atack I had was 20 minutes after eating a small package of hostess chocolate donut gems. Also explains why I often get anxiety after eating dinner. I always have some desert. I never put this together but the more I think about it the more sense it makes. Since reading this post I eliminated almost all sugar, as much as possible and I haven't had any worthy anxiety/panic in 2-3 days which is great for me. I usually think Im dying once a day, atleast. This could all be the placebo affect but I'm going with it anyway.

On a side note its hard finding a beverage with no sugar. Your stuck between water and milk. Sucks cause I've already given up Alcohol, pot, Cigarrettes, coffee, and soda. But now sugar.. Im like a mormon now. :)

Perhaps it isn't the sugar...more likely it is the caffeine in the chocolate donuts and tea that are causing your problems! I'm not completely sure about this, but I remember reading somewhere that eating sugar doesn't make us hyper or anxious...its kind of a psychosomatic association that has been engrained in our heads since birth. The thing is, MANY products that have sugar in them also contain at least moderate amounts of caffeine. If you think about it, chocolate, cofffee, soda, and tea all have caffeine and as most experts will tell you, eliminating caffeine from your diet is an absolute must for anxiety and panic attack sufferers. There is little doubt that some people are unusually sensitive to caffeine and it should be avoided at much as possible.

So this is what I would recommend...if you need to drink soda, skip the dark cola's and diet versions...drink 7 Up, Sprite, Sierra Mist, or Ginger Ale. If you must have a cup of coffee or tea now and again, drink ONLY decaf. If you eat sweets after dinner, don't eat anything with chocolate in it.

I think this will help you a lot. Please let me know what happens...I'm really curious about this.
