 Hello everyone. I have been taking Remeron for about two months for anxiety and depression. I'm sure the doc chose this med becuase I was having anxiety about eating due to nausia and other digestive problems that would not go away. I was told by doctors that my depression was causing my bowel problems but I just had a "gut" feeling that there was more to it than that. I started with 30mg of the Remeron, and was eating and feeling a little better. Besides the bizzare dreams, there were no bad side affects. I was bumped up to 45mg and about three weeks later. I started having panic attacks with more severe physical symptoms than before ( starting with trembling, tightness and discomfort in the chest, feeling like I was going to pass out, extreme fear ). Sometimes this would happen upon waking in the middle of the night. I assumed this was happening because I was nervous about my appointment to have a colonoscopy done, and medical situations and health issues do seem to trigger my anxiety. But these panic attacks come out of nowhere. I thought I would feel better once the test was done and I would finally know what was wrong with me after four months of suffering from bowel problems and not knowing why. I felt like the panic attacks were my body's way of letting me know something was wrong. I was diagnosed with Colitis and though that's not fun, at least I knew what was wrong. I thought the panic attacks would go away and they did for two days - but I had another one yesterday. They are horrible and I want them to go away! Now I am suspecting that the Remeron might be causing them. Has anyone else taking Remeron experienced more severe panic attacks after taking a higher dose? I have been on the 45 mg for a little over a month and it started around two weeks ago. Any feedback would be great! Thanks for your help!!
