I want off all meds
Jan 31, 2006
My problems started 3 months ago when I went to my Dr with some an anxiety
problems. I have dealt with the cause and now I want to stop my meds. He first started me on Xanax .5 , he told me to take 1/2 a pill 3 times a day and a whole one at night and Zoloft 25mgs to start and then 50mgs. About 2 weeks after I was having a hard time sleeping still so he gave me an Ambiain script and told me to not take the whole XanAx at night. I didn't listen to him and for 2 weeks I took both the Ambian and the Xanax at night. I stopped the whole Xanex and just took the Ambiain. I wanted to stop the Xanax and the Ambian(i ran out ) so I did cold turkey after 2 1/2 months, big mistake. I went back to the Dr. and told him I wanted to stop the Xanax and the Zoloft. He said taper off the Xanax and told me to take Lexapro instead of the Zoloft. That was a week ago and I stopped the Lexapro today because I read how hard it is to come off of and started weaning off the Xanax, 1/2 pill twice a day. What I am reading is scaring me to death, how can I come off so many meds at the same time or in close time frame? I don't really want to go though all the withdrawal I have been reading about, I would lose my job and probably my family. Or is the dosage small enough that the withdrawal would be minimal? Is 3 months a short amount of time that hey would not be as bad?

WOW, that is alot to keep up with!! Bless your heart!! I prefer xanax at the onset of panic. I have had the same script of 15 for the past 3 months. I am too afraid of the Cymbalta he gave me though. Been down that road before with Effexor. Good luck with everything.
