Re: ER last night
Feb 12, 2006
I have never passed out, but one's breathing can become so shallow that I do know that it happens. I often feel nauseated. My stool ( ) is very soft. (I have IBS).

My ND says that it is a result of the fight or flight syndrome -- when we're terrified, the body tries to "lighten the load", as it were -- vomiting and diarrhoea make us lighter so that we can run away. But we can't, so the panic continues, and has all sorts of other long-term physiological effects.

No wonder you're shaken up. Panic attacks are absolutely awful. (I began having them in March and had the hot, nauseated, dizzy feelings until I began a course of klonopin two weeks ago. It was dreadful.) You might want to see a doctor about the anxiety, if you've not already.
