I've been diagnosed with GAD. I'm not pregnant yet, but my husband and I are trying. I told him that as much as I want to be pregnant I am scared to death, because I know I am going to be so worried about the baby being healthy, especially since I am almost 40. I've stopped all my meds, including klonopin and prozac. Yeah, I am feeling pretty bad right now. I drink wine to relax and I take ambien to sleep. My fertility doctor actually said as long as its red wine its fine and ambien is classified as a class b pregnancy drug. I test early for pregnancy and if I find out I am pregnant I will stop the alcohol and ambien. (With some HPT's you can find out when you are only a few days past implantation and prior to the baby tapping into your blood supply.) I want to find someway to sleep and relax naturally. Even if it is a recommendation for a book. I tried sleepy time tea, but it doesn't really help. I don't want to take any herbal stuff like melatonin (sp). I know from my old therapist that a lot of anxiety is just the way you react to things, but it still causes sleepless nights. Any suggestions?
