having suffered for many years with panics and GAD, I am still at the point where I wonder "is this really anxiety"?
Here are some of my symptoms. Could this be something other than anxiety?

Shortness of breath (not the sort you get when you run but inability to take a deep breath in generally)
Dizziness - almost constant. I can be sat relaxing and it can start.
Feeling unreal - almost like I imagine it must feel if you are tripping!!
Pounding in ears (to the beat of your heart-constant)
Rib pain
Sudden jelly legs
Headaches - around 5 days a week.
Blurred vision - anytime.
Lump in throat (choking on eating)
Sudden complete body weakness.
Sleep apnea? - sudden intake of breath in sleep that wakes me up.
Feeling like my breathing has completely stopped.
Feeling like brain is trying to catch up
Very sensitive to noise, lights and temperature.
Feeling confused - suddenly.

These are just some of my symptoms.
Thanks for reading.
Bilbobeth, I will answer each of your questions as it has pertained to my own anxiety - hope tis helps
Shortness of breath (not the sort you get when you run but inability to take a deep breath in generally) Yes

Dizziness - almost constant. I can be sat relaxing and it can start. Yes

Feeling unreal - almost like I imagine it must feel if you are tripping!! Yes - and this is the worst one for me, this is also known as "derealization" never heard it described as well as you put it, like I am tripping (and not a good one lol)
this particular one has always been one of my major complaints and finally after all these years have finllay found a great combination of medication form me that actually has taken this away (Seroqel 50 mg. and Lexapro 10 mg.)

Pounding in ears (to the beat of your heart-constant) I hear more of a ringing or "whooshing" sound, but have had the pounding as well Rib pain
Yes, like a stabbing pain, then more dull

Sudden jelly legs yes

Headaches - around 5 days a week. Yes

Blurred vision - anytime. Yes even feel like I need my glasses strength increased

Lump in throat (choking on eating)No

Sudden complete body weakness. Yes

Sleep apnea? - sudden intake of breath in sleep that wakes me up. Yes, as well as sudden body "jerks" that wake me up Feeling like my breathing has completely stopped. Yes

Feeling like brain is trying to catch up Oh Yes!!

Very sensitive to noise, lights and temperature. Yes, also sensitive to sudden movements Feeling confused - suddenly.YES, YES, YES! - almost like I suddenly got drunk (especially accompanies that "derealization" feeling)

Hope this helps, like I said, after suffering all of these symptoms from anxiety, GAD and SEVERE Panic Attacks, I have finally been put on a good combination of medication for me. The Seroquel really helps with that derealization feeling, and the Lexapro has taken care of the others very nicely!

Good Luck , Hope to hear of your progress
God Bless, Mr. Jeff
