Sorry to hear about your anxiety problems, but I can totally relate. I do the exact same thing...start researching symptoms on the Internet until I have the most deadly disease on the planet. Then my anxiety goes soaring once again. If only there were a way to block all medically related sites from my search engine. LOL

As for the tachycardia, it is most likely the anxiety, not a heart issue. You've got me beat at 200+ BPM, but the last time I went through servere anxiety, I don't think my heart rate went below 100 for any appeciable amount of time in a 3-month period. Yes, it was that bad. I even had a Holter monitor (24-hour heart monitor) that indicated my heart rate sometimes went as high as 160. Like you, when the anxiety first hit me hard, I made an emergency room visit thinking I was having a heart attack. The nurse told me my heart rate was 150 BPM. They did the usual tests to rule out something serious then quickly deemed it an anxiety attack, gave me a Xanax and sent me on my merry way. What I don't think most people understand is that for some of us, anxiety is more than a passing "attack." Mine often lasts for hours at a time, to the point where I don't get a wink of sleep. Having benzos (Xanax, clonazepam, etc.) on hand helps, but they can be very addicting. They work fast, but watch yourself that you don't become overly dependent on them. I can't offer much other advice, since I haven't conquered my own problem yet, but I can commisserate.
