Lifting weights and exercising in the long run will be very beneficial for anxiety and depression. I think it's going to take a few weeks until your body gets used to working out again. Make sure to not over do it or try to lift to much and you're eating a well balanced diet, drinking enough water and resting. This happens to me sometimes after using weights and the muscles are very sore the next day. I get agitated and a little more anxious. The only thing that seems to work for me is to lay down, rest and give my muscles and agitated mind time to heal and re-group. Occasionally, if the agitation is too much for me, I'll take a xanax or a muscle relaxer like advil or motrin. Getting enough sleep is also very important and with continuous exercise, you'll sleep better.
