Firstly, what is your resting heart rate - this is what your heart rate is not one time but when you take it several times over several days.
a normal pulse rate for an average person is 60 - 80. My pulse rate when resting is 60 and while sleeping it gets in the 40's this is perfectly normal for a fit person. i am no athelete. some atheletes have a resting pulse rate of 40 and a sleeping pulse of 20's!

A lot of people don't know that a slow heart rate is a symptom of anxiety - everyone always thinks about the racing heart - but it is and if you want to learn more about it a book by Clarie Weekes called "Hope and Help for Your Nerves" talks about it.

If you are still concerned ask your doctor for a 24 hour monitor and this with put your mind at ease
