Thanks, Mat,
I live in Michigan and the weather wears on me too, I sure feel for your mom. I'm in my mid 50's and it gets much worse as I get older. Right now I'm having a hard time with the weather, it's been really gloomy. I've lived in Michigan my whole life and am afraid to move south. What if it's not what it's craked up to be, I can't come back to my house once it's sold and I've lived in my home for 34yrs. I suppose that's another anxiety issue.

The buspar has worked very well for me in the past at 15mg. a day divided into three doses, but this time I need more. There are many things going on right now around me besides my own Gad symptoms that I have never had to deal with before. Loss of loved ones, funerals, loved ones in hospitals and having intense surgery, just to name a few. These things come with age, you can't expect everything to keep going along as if yourself and all your friends and family were still young and vibrant with health.

I would take benzos if I knew they would never be taken away from me, but I am afraid of withdrawal from xanax. I have taken it 14yrs. ago for a few weeks and it really made me feel good rather quickly, unlike the slow snail pace that buspar takes to start working. However I went off the xanax way to quickly, actually stopped cold and ended up in the emergency room from withdrawal. That has never happened with buspar. You might want to mention that to your mom, if she is having good luck with buspar she might want to stay on it, especially if it's still working for her.

I really appreciate your taking time to answer my questions.:)
