Hi,

I am a 20 year old female who is considering getting professional help for my constant worrying and anxiety. After diagnosing myself, I truly believe I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

I constantly worry throughout the day, mostly about my and my family's health. Even something as simple as a pain in my finger causes me to start researching symptoms on the internet. I automatically assume the worst (ex: "Oh, it's my left finger. Since it's on the left side of my body, it must be my heart. Something's wrong with my heart!"). When my mom or dad don't answer their cell phone or are late arriving for an appointment, I automatically assume the worst ("Something happened. THey had a car accident. There all alone! How will ever find them?")

I also totally blow things outof proportion everyday (something I haven't realized until recently when my mom has helped me realize this). I am also very easily aggitated and very impatient. That's just a generalization of everything I worry about.

For the past couple weeks, I've been having some minor muscle twitching. It start with my eyelids and has since disappeared from my eyes, but seems to have moved to other muscle groups randomly (arms, legs, back). My question is, is this normal for someone with as much anxiety as I have? Often times, I feel tense during the day and have to try to allow my muscles to relax, which is very difficult for me. I was jsut wondering if twitching like I described above can be related to anxiety at all because I have no other physical symptoms other than the twitching. Of course, I have been worried sick for the past few weeks that I have MS or muscular dystrophy (again, I also believe I have the WORST case scenario). I have sought the advice of Eye-MDs who say it's probably benign myokymia, nothing to be concerned about.

Thank you for your help!
