I also understand what you are going through. I am a 29 years old successful full time working mother who has it all. Or so it appears.....

Each day I wake up and I'm immediately met with shortness of breath and full on anxiety. I have been to every specialist and all have told me I have nothing wrong with me. On paper I am in perfect health. Finally they had "the talk" with me about anxiety and stress levels.

Like you it is hard for me to believe that this constant shortness of breath is "all in my head" and that I am causing this to happen. I have also had the concept of our brains talking us into something explained to me but I still don't see how it is possible.

I am on a low dosage of Paxil now and since it has only been for a week I do not know if it is working yet. I was on Zoloft for awhile and did not have these symptoms. I came off of it because I was doing so well I felt I didn't need it anymore but my symptoms came back ten fold within 6 months. When they tried to put me on Zoloft again it didn't work for me and I had side effects which was weird considering I did not have them the first time.

Please have hope and believe you will get better. Seek a therapist who can help you work through these issues. I have heard a lot of good things about cognitive behavioral therapy and am even considering it myself. Up until now I have been doing meditation which is hard but it at least allows me twenty minutes to focus on me a day. A lot of times we just don't do that and this allows stresses to add up without us knowing about it until they spill over and give us panic attacks.

Good luck to you and keep us posted!
