OhBe......same story here. It's been going on for three years. They come and go. Dr. prescribed Xanax and I take one half of a .5 mg. Sometimes I even break that in half. It is terrible to go through this. I sympathize with you completely. It's very scary to wake up to a racing heart and all that goes with it. I get the chills, then I get very warm, I feel like my inside is racing and it's generally a very awful feeling. I don't know why this happens in the middle of the night - this abrupt awakening. When I wake up, I can't lie in bed either, so I put on tv, or like you, go on the computer or even start to clean up something. Motion makes me feel better so I get busy. I wish there was a way to eliminate this from happening, but until we can understand why, we can't do anything to prevent it.
