I was in the same boat as you just a few weeks ago. My health anxiety had gotten so bad that I couldn't eat and I was losing so much weight I was certain I had some type of cancer. I was bouncing from one doctor's appointment to the next, unable to think of anything else all day long. I could barely function or take care of my kids. The fear that ran through me from the moment I woke up in the morning until I fell asleep at night was just too much.

I had resisted going back on the meds for many months (off since January, symptoms returned in April) but I finally buckled down and started taking Lexapro again. I felt like a failure going back on the meds, but within a few days I started improving. It was the right decision, and now I wish I hadn't tortured myself for months trying to fight it naturally (without meds.)

I started taking 10mg a day at first, and after a week I dropped it to 5 mg. My health anxiety has improved tremendously, but I am not allowing myself to become numb again from the meds. I'm trying to keep on a very low, constant dose.
