Re: Panic attacks

You might want to consider trying Effexor (Venflaxatine) last, only if other antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications arenít working. Effexor (Venflaxatine) is in the SNRI class of antidepressants and has the shortest half life of all the antidepressants. The drugs short half life can cause some very uncomfortable withdrawal side effects when stopping the drug. Cipralex (Lexapro) is an SSRI antidepressant very similar to Zoloft and Paxil. As far as what is the most effective or which one is the strongest is very much a matter of opinion and will be different from person to person. Out of the two medications you mentioned, I would first try Cipralex (Lexapro). If this is your first time taking an antidepressant, I would start at a very low dose and work up slowly to an effective dose. Doing that can lessen the common side effects that may occur during the start of an antidepressant.
