One of the tools I use to burn off the extra energy in my system to manage my anxiety is my bike. When I am healthy, I can get on it and ride a few times a week and I keep my anxiety solidly in check. When I am sick, like I am now (cold), getting out to ride is not an option and then I start to get keyed up and the anxiety builds. It sucks!

What do folks who exercise regularly to maintain do when they can't exercise?

I'm done doing this on my own and I have my first counselor meeting coming up next week to start to learn more on how to sort things out and learn how to cope with this for myself and especially for my wife/kids. Gonna hit this thing head on. :)

My physician perscribed Lorazepam for when needed, but I've tried to not take this and use exercise as my outlet. This doesn't work so well when I'm sick and I need to work. 1-2mg of Lorazepam takes the edge off but also dulls me a bit. Don't mind it in the evening if needed, but not during a work day.
