I am currently on Paxil. I've not tried to get off it, but have heard it can be difficult to be weaned off. All I know is, it works for me...so, I'm sticking to it for now.

I've also read up about Wellbutrin (Bupropion) having lower side effects than most SSRI's. I've also read that Lexapro (Fluoxetine) is pretty decent, but has more side effects than Wellbutrin. Maybe discuss this with your Pdoc. Both are available in generic form and several large pharmacy chains have them on the $4/month prescription list.
I've heard that Wellbutrin a) is very activating, and b) often increases anxiety (more so than SSRIs).

Also, there is no generic Lexapro. I know people often say that Celexa is the generic Lexapro, but that is not the case. They are two separate, albeit extremely similar drugs, and Citalopram is the generic of Celexa...and Fluoxetine is the generic of Prozac.

I do like Zoloft though, so I don't really think I want to switch...
