ni all,

I have been taking Klopolin for anxiety for about five years or even more, 1mg as need up to three times a day. I Have severe anxiety and panic attacks at times, and was wondering............after taking it this for this long, can it loose it's effects? The reason I am asking is My GP just put me on Zoloft and I am taking the klopolin as needed "Don't" want to really take it BUT need it.......

So, I was thinking about asking my GP about Buspar? Is it as effective as Klopolin? I know KLon.......is addictive and would like to know if anyone else has gotten off it and went to buspar or something non addictive...........? Pls. I just want to get my anxiety under control............ And did it help?

Thank you and God Bless.........D;)
Himmy, my suggestion to you would be to just go on the Zoloft, and take the klonopin as needed in the beginning to help you through any side effects you might have. Then once your body is pretty well adjusted on the Zoloft, you can then start the weaning process for the klonopin if you want to.
I have never had any experience with Buspar, so I can't really tell you anything about that, but I do know that Buspar and Klonopin are in a totally different class of drug. Klonopin is a benzodiazapine, like xanax and ativan. I'm not sure what Buspar is. But if it helps you any, I take Zoloft and Xanax together. I'm not worried about the addiction part, the way I look at it is, if my body gets dependant on it, then so be it, at least I won't have anxiety and panic attacks anymore. If you need it, then you need it!
I know some people that take 8 mgs of xanax a day, along with other meds. So it doesn't concern me much that I take 1 mg. I actually asked the pharmacist the other day how hard it was going to be for me to stop the xanax if I wanted to, and she told me it is a low dose and I won't have a problem at all if I decide to do that. Hope this helps you at least a little. Fox
