I think the behavioral center is an excellent idea. Cognitive therapy helps more than most people know.

SSRI medications such as Celexa (Citalopram) can cause increased anxiety and insomnia for the first few days. Those symptoms usually go away.

Buspar (Buspirone) might be easier for you to adjust to, and it is an anti anxiety medication.

Hydroxyzine is a strong antihistamine. It has anti anxiety effects and should make you very sleepy. Benadryl is another antihistamine that is used in most over-the-counter sleep aids.

You may want to research L-Theanine which is an amino acid. It's found in green tea and in my experience it helps to reduce anxiety without making me drowsy.

Good luck!
