I started taking Xanax when I was 20 for anxiety and panic attacks, around 2 a day. When I was 25 I knew I wanted to get pregnant. And xanax is a no no. So for the year before getting pregnant, I weaned my self SLOWLY off the xanax. It was really hard but my motavation was strong, wanting a child. I was able to do it in one year. And then I got pregnant ....
During my pregnancy there were some difficult moments when I really struggled, but again you have such a string motavation, your child...
I got through my pregnancy drug free, not even a tylenol..It was so very worth it, as I look at my 18 year old son now...
After he was born , I said OK where's the xanax...
And have been taking them ever since....
Never abusing them though....
I consider them as if I was a diabetic needing insulin I need xanax. I will for the rest of my life...
Good luck!
Having babies is the best!!!

I disagree. These drugs can cross the blood-brain barrier with ease, and also the placental barrier.

Here's a quote:

"There is a some evidence that diazepam and other
benzodiazepines are teratogenic in humans, increasing the risk of congenital malformations when ingested by the mother during the first trimester of pregnancy (Reynolds, 1993;USPC, 1989; Briggs et al., 1986)."

Look under teratogenicity. Benzos should not be taken during pregnancy.
