... depends on the type of anxiety you have. if you are more of a panic sufferer, valium wouldn't be a good choice. its better for generalized anxiety, not really as helpful for panic attacks. xanax is a good choice for anxiety sufferers and panic attacks. ativan is similar to xanax, just weaker... .5mg of xanax=1mg of ativan. klonopin is better for racing thoughts...... ... I took ativan for a while. i really liked it. It is not as strong as Xanax when taking the same mg. Xanax, ativan and klonopin are in the same family. I have tried all and my favorite I guess is ativan because I am very sensitive to drugs. It doesn't last as long as the others. ... (4 replies)

... I have tried all three and personally like klonopin. It is longer lasting out of the three. Xanax made me very tired and I felt hungover the next day. Ativan was OK. It helped me through some tough times. Klonopin I do like the best - but I take it for those times when I have to go out and feel my panic setting in. Tranxene vs xanax

... i took tranzene many years ago. actually haven't heard anyone mention it in about 10 years. it worked well for me while i was using it. valium makes me vomit and ativan depresses me and makes me cry. I use klonopin now with great results. about the same as the tranzene. xanax does nothing for me. good luck. ... (6 replies)
