... Benzos are different for everyone. They're really not meant to be used as a long term solution for anxiety, mainly because of the addiction potential and withdrawal effects. But for some people, they are the only thing that works. I've been taking . ... (2 replies)

... I suffer from Anxiety and Depression since 6th grade and only started getting help about a year ago. I wasn't sure where to post this since it could fall under Anxiety, Bipolar, and Depression. I'll try to keep this short to the point. I've been on 10MG of Citalopram (Celexa) for about 4 weeks now. (starting back on the meds) I feel much better with my anxiety and also... (4 replies)
... Don't worry about the addiction- take it as prescribed and you won't go down that path. It's not anymore addicting than Mt. Dew, for example. People with addicte-type personalities will become addicted to anything. Dependence (physiological) should not be confused with addiction. That is a very low dose- which I guess doesn't matter, but I wouldn't be concerned with... (16 replies)
... I think you are over thinking this. 2x .5mg daily is not very much. I used to be on 1mg 3x daily along with alprazolam at the same time, and I didn't consider that an "addiction". If you find that you are getting too much of a tolerance to the drug your doctor might be able to switch you to something similar and then back again after a while, but again, 2x .5mg is not a lot. ... I asked my doc specifically about Buspar due to it's low addiction tendancies (I trend towards addictive so did not want a benzo). Buspar is great for me. I'm on a relatively low dose and others take a much higher dose. There is no withdrawal if you forget and no craving for it. It's just "there". From what I've read it will absolutely not equal something like taking a... (5 replies)

... I also figured I had depression too, but then I realized it was pretty much completely the SAD/GAD that was causing my depression. Of course when you feel like you're gonna have a panic attack or pass out every time you leave the house it might cause you to get a little depressed ;) , which was pretty much my situation. I knew I would most-likely need some type of... (18 replies)

... With responsible use, Klonopin (aka. Clonazapem) can do wonders for most of the physical symptoms of anxiety. I've been taking it for almost a year now for GAD/SAD, and it does do wonders.
