... Hi! The Lexapro stays in your system for a long time so if you dont take a pill for a day or two you might feel fine and think you'll feel fine off it, but you might not ~ I think a big mistake a lot of people make while taking antidepressants is once they start feeling better they think they dont need to take them anymore, but you probably really do ~ you probably do need to... ... Bikya123, I had many symptoms but the ones I can remember are: Dizzy, Light Headed, heart palpatations, my chest hurt (thought I was having a heart attack), Panic type feeling, If I left the house I would get panicky... ... I've gone off and on prozac three times now. I convince myself im a 100% cured, so I wean myself off...and then guess what happens...it all comes back. I feel like people like us... actually do have a chemical imbalance in our brains and maybe our anxiety is not at all situational but completely chemical related. Sucks! I admit! I have gone as long as two years without any... (3 replies)
... To Ema78, Give it time. Please. I just had my last visit to therapist precisely six months since my first visit. I pretty much consider myself "cured". Whatever route you take please fight on. It will take a while to get there and you will have many blockades put in front of you...including side effects. Best wishes :) (10 replies)
... Natty - I'm sorry that you're not feeling better. From what I can tell, it seems that 5 mgs. doesn't work for many people. I'm thinking about upping my dose to 10 mgs right now. I just hope that my side effects don't get any worse. I'm so nauseated that I can't eat or even look at or smell food. Let me know if your doctor suggests going up to 10 mgs. I, like you, keep... ... I agree with you....I don't think I'll ever be cured. Even when the anxiety is not really there....it's there, if you know what I mean. I guess I should just be satisfied it has eased a bit. I can function and probably seem normal to other people--he he!! It can be my secret. ;) (23 replies)
... it can cause you to have difficulty reaching orgasm....yeah, a little frustrating. My opinion is that SSRI's are designed to do exactly what you said they are doing for you. THey take the edge off. We are never going to be "cured" from anxiety because it is always going to be there, or on the verge of being there. The medication takes enough the edge off to be able... ... I babbled. Anyway, in my experience, it has always come back. Dr. Phil says it can be cured in 3 sessions. Gee, funny that all of the psychiatrists I've been to over the last 20 yrs. must not know that. Good luck! ... (10 replies)
