... lexapro is one of many prozac type meds, none are stronger than others although the dose of them sometimes needs to be upped to get them working docs of course should counsel about anxiety but many are too busy or lazy or simply dont know how to :eek: anxiety and depression are separate, some anxiety sufferers are also depressed, some not, you dont need to be depressed... ... I know how you feel, those were my words exactly when I started taking lexapro. It took me about 2-3 weeks to start feeling the effects and all I can say it just try to tough it out till then. One suggestion is don't say to yourself "I wonder if 10mg is not enough" and "Shouldnt I be seeing some improvement?". That in itself is just creating even MORE anxiety and making... (17 replies)
... to momma you need to get some books on overcoming anxiety that teach you CBT and new coping and relaxing skills lexapro is the same type of med as zoloft and may eventually help doc should have given you some cvalium or similar as these meds always hgelp a lot from day 1, these meds dont cause weight gain, you gain from eating more and/or exercising less (3 replies)

... if it is helping with your anxiety I strongly suggest you learn new ways of calming and relaxing yourself before quitting, also learn CBT anxiety coping skills, as theres a chance that all your old anxiety problems will return on stopping it also its usually best to stay on an antidepressant thats helping for 12 months or more its generally best to taper off over a few... ... yes. I feel the same way as you, except I can cool down. I don't necessarily get hot and it happens. And this is not related to my meds, cause I had this way before taking Prozac. So, here I am. Going to see a Psych hopefully soon. I will let you know what she/he says. Andrea (34 replies)

Hi, discuss the following with your doc: wellbutrin lexapro and paxil are anxiety meds they are called antidepressants but they often reduce anxiety, they take 2 to 6 weeks to work and the dose may need upping, occasionally 1 wont ever work at any dose for a person how long on the wellbutrin and what dose and is it helping at all :confused: did the paxil help before if... Social anxiety

... this is driving me nuts, but lately i have been having a lot of social anxiety lately, id say the last 3-4 months. particularly, uncomfortable in social situations, as i feel i have trouble looking people in the eye. like it makes me really uncomfortable. like my head hurts to the extent. as if im being judged or something. i was on zoloft for 2-3 months - didnt work....
