... It might be an idea to go on an ssri antidepressant/anti anxiety agent for a while. This will help with your fixation. While you are on the medication, I would suggest you get some counselling around the isue as well as it sounds like a focus for your anxiety to anchor on to. ... Sounds like this may not be the right SSRI for you? I got a rash from Zoloft and Elavil and my eye swelled shut! They took me off it ASAP. They will look for something with a different chemical component make up. How Scary that must have been for you. I'd make an appointment and check in and see what they think of the tongue. ... welcome cindy are you taking the lexapro, it may eventually help a lot lots of info on panic attacks on the net, the detachment is derealisation or depersonlaisation and quite common do get some valium type meds and carry a few tablets with you when out, disolve 1 under the tongue if another panic attack happens, klonapin wafers are specially designed for panic attacks...
