... The sick feeling you're having on Celexa is what I've had in the past myself. As for lorazepam, it helps but people become quickly tolerant to it in a week or 2. Clonazepam or diazepam may be a better choice to use until the AD kicks it, if it does at all. (5 replies)
... I would see a chiropractor. I worked for one and I was amazed at what a messed up or out of place back can do to a person. I also learned adjustments can help woth anxiety if it is due to something in the back. Its kinda like a plant for example. If you dont water it and put it in sunlight eventually it will dry out and wilt away , but if you do it in time you can revive... (6 replies)

Ativan concerns
Feb 7, 2004
... Dear clt13, First of all I don't take ativan but I have been on xanax for years. You should stay on it at the same dosage and work through the highs and lows to level out again. You went off of it way to soon and to fast also. You can't put a time limit on when to go off of benzos or any other mental medication. You have to stabilize and go off not by desire or fear alone.... (2 replies)
Ativan concerns
Feb 7, 2004
... Over the past 9 months I developed severe neck and back problems, and other unrelated health problems, and developed an uncontrollable level of anxiety regarding my health. All I could think about was my pain all the time. I went to see a phsychiatrist... first we tried Effexor XR, that didn't work for me (side effects were too much). Then in September 2003, he put me on... (2 replies)
... need to know what most people consider the mildest anti anxiety drug with fewest side effects. I have been having jitters and shakes for weeks, almost 24 hours a day, waking up with them as well. Mostly internal, sometimes a little external. sometimes feel a wave or rush going thru my body as well. So far just about all blood and urine normal, MRI had 2 small lesions,... (7 replies)
... Sorry for the Long Story but I am tired of feeling horrible. End of August while on vacation with family I developed a problem swallowing, felt like food stuck in throat. Lost my appetite and lived on liquids and soft foods. Had barium swallow and Endoscopy, all came back normal. Took some prevacid for 2 weeks and now I can swallow fine, but no appetite still. Lost... ... I take Ativan(Lorazepam) for panic/anxiety and it works for me, it makes me a little tired, if you are concerned about driving. I took xanax as well but it didn't work for me as well as ativan and wasn't as sedating. i know if you take it on a consistent basis the sedative effect will go away. (5 replies)

... From the ADI network site: Anti-anxiety agents, such as Ativan, Xanax, and Klonopin: These are the agents of choice for starting anxiety management. More research is now available on Klonopin, Rivotril, (clonazepam). Many "primary care" physicians (GPs) have not been trained in the anxiety disorders and see these medications as being "addictive". However, these medications... (9 replies)
XANAX users.
May 27, 2003
... It has been fried into doctor's heads that Xanax is a bad drug to give, because it is highly addictive. For the year I took it at 4 times a day @.5mg, I never could understand what made doctor's so paranoid of it. I wasn't too impressed with the drug, and figured that the dosage was probably too wimpy for me to notice any ill effects. Other than putting me to sleep in all the... (25 replies)
Prozac and Anxiety
Apr 12, 2003
... No I have never taken Prozac for anything but I wanted to ask you a question. Is Prozac an anti depressant? And if so doesnt it take at least 2 weeks to get into your system and start to work? I would think someone with anxiety wouldnt want to wait 2 weeks till it kicks in. its a long time if your getting nightly anxiety/panic attacks like I was. I was put on... (15 replies)
