Extreme GAD

... I'm not sure about you, but I'm highly sensitive to medications. So, I always start slow. Paxil is one of MANY options, so discuss this with your Pdoc. I just happen to do well with Paxil and its a very cheap (generic). Lorazepam is Ativan. Maybe your Pdoc doesn't like Valium or Xanax because they have a longer list of meds they interact with? ... zoloft is not the best for anxiety in my opinion. it was my first med and just made things worse. you might react better. Valium is highly addictive.Xanax or lorazepam would be a better choice (5 replies)

I can tell you for me things did not get better until I accepted the fact that this was anxiety and panic attacks and not some underlying medical condition. That is sometimes a very hard thing to do.
