... Sounds to me like your having anxiety when you wake up. A lot of us get anxiety with a racing heart upon waking in the morning or when woken in the middle of the night which can make it difficult to fall back to sleep. It is good deep breathing helps you. ... I was the same as you described = okay during the day but just as soon as you try to sleep -bam it hits you -like you are trying to run a marathon.
