... Hey there, After 10 years on 100mg of Zoloft, my doctor up my dosage to 150mg and it has driven my anxiety to through the roof over the last 5 weeks. I think that the 150mg is too high. I take 7.5 of Restoril when it's really bad. I restarted Buspar 10 days ago to help with anxiety, but it has a building effect like the AD's. Hope this helps, Zoloftman (17 replies)
... I'm just wondering if there are any other good alternatives? My anxiety has been really bad and I've been taking 1 mg of xanax and it doesn't even touch it. I've tried Valium but it made me suicidal. I'm just wondering if there are any other good ones out there? I'm going to my pysch. in the next week and I want some meds to talk to him about. I'm also on 100mg of Zoloft.... (17 replies)
... ve recently started having several symptoms associated with Anxiety and went to see my Dr. I pretty much self diagnosed myself and he wrote me prescriptions for Zoloft and Ativan after talking to me for about ten minutes in his hurry to get out the door. ... (1 replies)

... xanax is easy to build a tolerance to, after a couple of years it might take five times the dose that helped you a year ago. paxil and zoloft are very effective controlling the daily anxiety, you must use xanax for a breakthrough not a preventitive of daily anxiety,, just an opinion L (17 replies)
... I was wondering if 1 mg wasn't enough either, but I thought 1 mg was high.. I'm going to my dr tomorrow and I'll see what she says. I've been on Zoloft, Paxil, Lexapro and one other I can't remember lol. Paxil was what helped me the most but I got to the highest plataue that is recommended and my anxiety got very bad and I gained a lot of weight. My anxiety has been through... (17 replies)
... Maybe 1mg is not enough the help you with the anxiety. I have to take 2.5mg of xanax to feel better. I just take it once in a blue moon when my anxiety is more than I can handle on my own and the 2.5 smooths it over nice without feeling drugged or sloppy. I'm on zoloft too (50mg) and lately I've been missing a lot of doses, forgetting to take them for 2 days or so and then... (17 replies)
... IMO all the antidepressants are heavy duty industrial strength meds that are being overprescribed however, when they work they are very helpful zoloft is a SSRI or prozac type, and since it worked for you, I suggest you try another as the other types may not work for you at all, if you mean loss of sex drive this sadly is a feature with all of them, but it varies from... ... puppypuke (I love that name!), I never felt what "normal" people must feel like around people until I was on Prozac in my late 20s. Before that I was always terribly self-conscious except around a few really close people UNLESS I was drunk or high, WHICH DOESN'T COUNT as far as I'm concerned. Once the Prozac kicked in I actually RACED to get up and get dressed and out so I... (13 replies)

... It wasn't until a year later when I heard about possible holistic solutions. I really wish I would have heard about the alternatives to meds before I started taking them. ... (6 replies)
... Withdrawal on Zoloft, huh? Gee, I thought SSRI's werent addictive- at least thats what I have been told (I didnt believe it when I was told that, BTW)?! I will say that Xanax was a good medication, but like I said, that one side effect was just too much. However, even that would be better than what I have been going through with PRozac. I am not taking it anymore- I am... (6 replies)

... Why are you hesitant to take Paxil? Its a well established, well tested drug for anxiety, panic and depression. Zoloft or Lexapro are alternatives, but they are verys similar drugs - not much to chose between them. Before you condem paxil, I'd try it - it made my life much more bareable. (3 replies)

... can help most people at least to a degree where your social anxiety becomes manageable. It's a matter of finding which one works for you. I've tried Paxil and Zoloft in the past and neither worked for me, but it very well might for you. ... (1 replies)

... I also figured I had depression too, but then I realized it was pretty much completely the SAD/GAD that was causing my depression. Of course when you feel like you're gonna have a panic attack or pass out every time you leave the house it might cause you to get a little depressed ;) , which was pretty much my situation. I knew I would most-likely need some type of... (18 replies)
