Oesmom, if your fingers are numb at times, rub the tips gently. It is normal for them to be black & blue; bruising will fade, not to worry.
If you have Traumeel, best to use it for swelling, bruising & pain, at least 4 times a day & before you retire at night.
It could be that your cast/guard is too tight, hence the finger pain & numbness. If so, dont hesitate to return to your doctor to ask for a new cast/guard. Remember, you are the one who feels the pain!
Icing & elevation & Traumeel do speed up the healing process, so hang in there.
