Hi jp,
I've read some of your posts, and you seem very knowledgeable in this category. Would you know if the Advair is ok to inhale on an as needed basis? Which is 2 or 3 times a month. This is what I do now. I don't have any breathing difficulty, or even really know what an asthma attack is. The only time I had a breathing problem was when I had the pneumonia. Then I was on both prednisone, antibiotics, and Advair twice daily for about a month and a 1/2, then I was getting headaches, so the Dr. told me to stop it on a daily basis.
I had no asthma, or wheezing prior to the pneumonia. All I seem to keep having now, is the wheezing, in my airways, (some days none).. and occasional horsiness, but no breathing difficulty. Would you say the Advair is helpful or causing me rebound problems. If I should completely stop the use of the Advair, would you know how long it should take apx. before my system can go back to normal again? Or is it ok to use the Advair as needed? Your answeres would be appreciated...thanks.

I know this post was directed to jp...and I'm sorry to intrude, but I figured that I'd reply since I have nothing else to do..
Advair's steroid generally takes a week or more for the full effect to kick in. It might be the long-acting bronchodilator in Advair that you're getting relief from. What strength of Advair are you using? Do you take albuterol?
