I was recently diagnosed with asthma and my doctor prescribed two different inhalers (Advair 250/50 and Xonepex, both to be used twice a day) and Allegra for allergies. I have a mild to moderate case of asthma and I'm wondering if the Advair is really necessary. I've read that it shouldn't be used if your asthma is under control with another medicine. The Xonepex seems to work well for me and hasn't given me any side effects so far. But the Advair makes me feel nervous and shaky, makes my face feel hot and my heart pound, and I cannot sleep at all after taking it. Is it really necessary to have two inhalers? And, if so, what are some alternatives to Advair?
