... Are you on a daily inhaled steroid asthma medication? (Asmanex, Flovent, Advair?) Perhpas you need another course of Prednisone? How long were you suffering before you went for treatment? Perhaps you have acid reflux and that is causing your cough? Have you been checked or treated for that? I had SEVERE asthma from birth to age 8 - then it went 'dormant' - it... (9 replies)
... Tia, I am no expert - but what you are describing definitely sounds like asthma. It also sounds like you are having a 'flare up' (your airways are very sensitive and inflammed - and you need to get some medical care ASAP as asthma attacks are very SERIOUS. Sounds like you may need a daily inhaled steroid (Advair, Flovent, Asmanex, etc.) and some type of rescue inhaler... (11 replies)
... If I were you, I'd stop rinsing the nose. That sounds incredibly uncomfortable and serves no purpose. The nebulizer kit that allows you to inhale the meds through the nose - ugh. That doesn't serve any purpose either, unless you simply prefer it that way.
