... Here's the thing. He stores it in a spare bathroom that is not used for bathing. He has been on Asmanex for at least three years and this would have been the 36+ inhaler he has had. This one twisthaler went bad and was all moldy and black and he had been ingesting it. I just wanted answers why it went bad. (3 replies)

... Asmanex is a corticosteroid, I believe. The twist inhaler is titrated at 200mcg, so be sure to keep this in mind, as many pressure inhalers, like QVar are at about 80mcg. Moreover, make sure you get in the habit of rinsing your mouth after every treatment, as there is a risk of developing oral yeast (candida) (5 replies)
... Definitely -- Asmanex does cause palpitations. I then cut it down to one spray a day and that seemed to alleviate the palps but the asthma is not under good control -- needing the Albuterol once or twice a day. I dunno - a good formula has to be arrived at. (2 replies)

... I don't blame you. Had severe palpitations from asmanex. They didn't start until about a week after using - maybe had to get into my system. Dr. said it was a side effect and switched me to azmacort. No problem so far! (3 replies)
