... Thanks everyone for sharing your struggles. The coughing can really wear you out and affect your quality of life. Others who haven't experienced it just don't understand. I went through months on end of the coughing a couple years ago. I was so thankful when it finally got better. It was a gradual process though. It had been in the low 40's here. What a help. ... ... Only a doctor can answer that question namz. People who live in the States and have asthma are covered under the Americans with Disability Act of 1991. It's mainly set up to make sure people with chronic health problems are not discrimanted against in their jobs......etc. Hope you feel better. ... (10 replies)

... This is the same reaction I have received from my doctor. All I can tell you is that I cannot get deep breaths and cannot do anything physical without being out of breath or that requires me to talk for extended periods ( I am a teacher and that is part of my job). I know it sounds strange, however It is very difficult to sleep...when I struggle to get deep breaths it seems... (12 replies)

Hi - I agree with Sue430 - if the doctor tells you you will never get better at the age of only 37 it's time to find another doctor - there are just too many medications/alternative medicines out there to accept you will never get better. I bought the book "Reversing Asthma" and it has helped me a great deal - you might want to consider giving it a read - best of luck! (10 replies)
