... since all these drug names can be confusing, I think it would be helpful to point out not just the drugs' names but its active ingredients, as some drugs (like salbutamol) go by two names (albuterol and ventolin) and other drugs (like berodual) are combination preparations. Berodual is atrovent and berotec. Berotec is almost the exact same thing as ventolin, which gave you... (3 replies)

Unfortunately, with asthma, if you have persistent asthma, it is much like diabetes. you can NOT take your "long acting" medication on a daily basis, but you will end up needing many many more doses of your short acting medication, and you will end up much sicker much more frequently than you would if you just took your long acting medications.
