... If you're getting asthma more than once a week, you should really give a preventive medication a try. Too much ventolin is not good for your heart. It's really meant to be an emergency relieving treatment, not an everyday thing. Are you on allergy meds? ... (8 replies)

... Hello Everyone and thnaks for your replies. I've been taking Serevent for about ten days now - two puffs twice a dayv -this in conjunction with Clenil Modulite taking the same number of puffs. Amazingly, I haven't had to use my Venolin once in all that time! My doctor will be delighted when I see her on December 1st, I hope. (7 replies)
... I was told that if I had to use my rescue inhaler more than twice a week that my asthma was not well controlled. It sounds as though the clinic nurse was following that information. Perhaps you should double check with your primary doctor and get more specific info from him/her? :) (7 replies)
... The idea is to work with your doctor to figure out a preventer regime so that you rarely need your rescue inhaler. Try the Serevent for a while, definitely do not stop the Clenil Modulite, and see what happens. (7 replies)

As much as you know your body and you know what an asthma attack feels like and you know how much you can take, she is new to this if it is asthma, and also, you don't have the exact feelings she does, so it's easy to misinterpret. ...
