My sons hand flapping was more like a continual opening and closing of his hands and fingers,then he would shake his arms and hands up and down when he would get excited about something. A lot of normal kids also display this behaviour. ... (6 replies)

My husband did that in the beginning to show him to dance and move his arms so we're not sure if we taught him that or not. ... He sounds fine to me. Just rocking or flapping hands doesn't necessarily indicate autism. He sounds very social, and his vocabulary seems right about where it should be. ... (4 replies)
... matic doors at stores and fans. Otherwise he seemed fine. Good eye contact, snuggly and loving but as time went on the movements of things would really get his arms flapping and fingers flicking in front of his eyes. Especially at the pool with the movement of the water. ... (17 replies)
