My wife awakens most mornings with upper back pain and arm numbness, particulary right arm. Once she gets up and moves around it goes away. Her neurologist says its a pinched nerve but suggested no treatment (she regularly sees a neurologist due to past benign tumors).

When it occurs during the night it really affects her sleep. It does seem to me to be slowly getting worse.

Anyone have similar problems and solutions perhaps?

Thanks,

PH

Has your wife considered seeing a chiropractor? I have similar problems and I have to make a decision between seeing a neurologist and a chiropractor. I'm leaning more towards seeing a chiropractor because this is the second post that I've seen where a neurologist has taken no action whatsoever.

Has your wife ever been in a car accident or any activity that could've injured her back? I've been in four car accidents and I didn't experience any problems with my back, etc. until recently. In fact, just last night I woke up at 4am with pain in my left arm and dizzyness, I have also experienced numbness in my left arm etc.

Recently, I saw a cardiologist who diagnosed my problem as a possible pinched nerve and wants me to see either a neurologist or a chiropractor.

Hope this helps.
