Just wanted to let everyone know that I had a three level microendoscopic Discectomy on Feb. 6th and it was a great success. I had severe right leg, foot and buttock pain. I could not sit without pain nor stand or walk. I could not tie my shoes anymore. I lived with this for 1yr then finally broke down and decided on the surgery. I tried everything prior to surgery such as Vax D and Spina Systems, injections you name it. Nothing worked. I went in on Feb. 6th at 7am to the hospital, at 9:45am. I was in surgery, 12pm I was out of surgery, 2:30pm I was awake in recovery, 3:30pm I was up and walking in my room and down the hall, 5:30pm I was discharged and went to my hotel room where I was eating Subway sandwiches and watching movies with my family by 7:00pm. I can now sit down without even thinking of how to adjust to the pain because there is no pain. I have some numbness in my leg and foot due to the nerves are swollen after finally being unpinched. I cannot bend for atleast 3 to 4 weeks and cannot sit for more than 20 minutes at a time. No lifting for 2 more weeks then after than I can lift no more than 20 lbs. No exercise other than walking for now. I have a 8 week follow up then he said we will talk about exercising. I was not put in a back brace and probably will not need physical therapy if I take it easy. That will be the hard part, not over doing it even though I feel so good. Thank you all for your prayers and words of encouragement during this time.
