Re: Daubie

HI!! I'm doing pretty well. If you remember, last year I had the ESI's and got a lot of relief from the pain in the butt and leg. Returned to work full time and have been working since then. Problem was, couldn't do anything but work. Scared to bend, garden, ski, etc. So I finally saw the surgeon. He did a micro-d on 6/6/03. I feel pretty much the same as I did pre-surgery. Still numb foot/leg, and a lot of pain in my 2 toes. My thought is, even if I don't feel any better (which I have hope and faith that I will in time), at least I know that disc fragment (which calcified and wrapped around the nerve!) is gone, so I will eventually be able to do those things again without worrying (sp?) about it dislodging and causing me that excruciation nerve pain. I know I will always have to be careful with my back but that's ok. I'm getting older anyway (40, I think we're the same age). I remember we had a lot in common. Still into country music? Haven't been to any concerts lately. I'm going on vacation Friday. We're heading over to the west side of MI (you're in WI, right?) and then MAYBE into the UP if I can handle the drive. I will only be 2 weeks post op then, so who knows. Don't you do yearly summer vacations? If so, when is yours?
I'm sorry to hear you're still having problems, but glad you got your lumbar area straightened out! Are you able to work? I know (think) you had to quit being an EMT, are you doing something else??? Please fill me in, it is so nice chatting with you!! Take care~ Daubie
