Hello all, I am confused because I just found out that my O/S is going to be the only surgeon doing my Laminectomy/fusion surgery. I thought that the N/S usually does the major part of the surgery. Do O/S have the same knowledge when it comes to nerve damage? My Dx. is: severe DDD L4-S1, masive facet joint hydrotrophy on both the rt. and lft. side, ligament flavum, sciatica, herniated L4-5, and spinal canal stenosis. I can't stand or walk more than 5 min. w/o sharp pain down my legs and tingling feet. So, I know the nerves are getting worse. I thought the Ortho. was mainly a bone Dr.

Any thoughts would be great,

Lorie
