I recently had another MRI done and it mentions a couple new things on it compared with my last one in November.

Could someone please explain some of this "MRI lingo" for me?

L4-5 Moderate loss of disc height and signal as before. Central protrusions are again noted and now has an an annular tear and is associated with a well defined fluid collection, 1cm transverse, 2mm AP, 6mm superior to inferior, better defined than on previous MRI. Mild ligamentum flavum hypertrophy is again noted. Spinal stenosis is significantly decreased from previous exam.

That last statement about the stenosis is really hard for me to believe since my symptoms are worse than ever. What is this fluid collection? I will be seeing a couple surgeons next week but just thought all you educated folks here might be able to give me a heads up on this report. Thanks

Also, does the surgeon always see the pictures the same way as the person doing the MRI report?
