Back Problems Board Index

Good Morning Julie!

I had a caudal epidural injection on Monday and I Think it may be helping my tailbone pain. (I have 2 issues - coccyx displaced & torn disc). I'm hoping.

I'm sorry I didn't get back in about your question - is it normal to have both injections at the same time. I will have to say No. Cuz, I went to Cleveland Clinic for the facet joint injections and, when I got there, and my doc read the Xrays of Coccyx, he decided on the Caudal instead. I asked him if we'd be doing the facets, too...and his response was "No, bcuz if something worked to relieve your pain, we wouldn't know which worked". Maybe docs think differently in that arena....who knows?

As for 'closing your case' - I would seriously ask your lawyer about that. As you can see by these boards, back problems/injuries don't normally just "go away". We all have degeneration at some level that occurs w/ age...but, getting hit by a car may just speed that process up a bit. I'm not saying that to frighten you, believe me! I just don't want to see you get screwed by signing anything too soon!!!

Sounds like Daubie can really help you out here. I am also happy that your daughter didn't get hit being pregnant....but, it's a dang shame that you Had to.

I understand your feelings of holding your grandbaby! I have a 2yr10mo old girl (her 23 hr labor started the coccyx prob) and a 17 mos old girl! They are the loves of my life - oh, yeah.... I Do love their Daddy, too! ;) - but, it's very frustrating to not be able to do as much as I'd like with them. I'm looking forward to all the simple things if I can get this back back in shape!

Give your injections time. I was Always worse the next couple of days. They say 72 hrs before you May notice some relief. That's Thursday afternoon for me! Did you have yours morning or afternoon? I remember my first, I was literally watching the clock - waiting for it to KICK IN! LOL Sometimes, I'm a bit Too optimistic!

Take care!

Karen
