I am not expert by any stretch...but it sounds like what I have been reading on periformis syndrome....I have found several websites that discuss this....I have pain in the buttocks also...I find that laying flat and raising my legs up to bend at knees and pulling them up to my face, and then grasping the back of my thigh with my hands and pulling upwards as to pull the buttock muscle...well, I find this to be helpful....I have dealt with this pain now for over a year that has gotten worse..I had a trigger point injection into the muscle last week, it may be helping some....but I have just noticed that stretching my leg out ...just pointing the toe out and stretching that leg out...really takes some relief off of that pain site.....I believe that I am suffering from periformis syndrome from all that I have read about it....hope this helps...
