Back Problems Board Index

Hello Pinochio07,

Welcome to the Healthboards!!!

I can relate to your depression as most chronic pain suffers can. The hardest part is when family and friends don't understand your pain. Here you will find so many people that are so underrating and have been their. I came to these boards in July when I could finally sit in my desk chair. Even on my bad days I still find a way to sit here and read. I am all propped up with pillows and heating pad.

I to also have cervical and lumbar pain. Although since my surgery I haven't felt that much neck pain because of the pain meds I am taking for my back and legs. I am so sorry to hear of all you have been through. As for your x-ray, I really don't understand why they had you lie down. Most x-ray tables do adjust to an upright position. Therefore they could have done the x-ray with you standing. That was my worst fear when going for my first x-ray. Upon scheduling my appointment I asked how they planned on doing the x-ray and that is when they explained the adjustments. I am thinking maybe they laid you down because of your sciatica pain. Thank the lord that they were able to stop your internal bleeding and give you back feeling of your legs. I cannot even imagine what you have gone through.

As for the sleeping I also suffer a great deal of pain while lying down, and awake in so much pain. I also had fusion surgery and I am having a difficult recovery but nothing compared to you. But I also have hope and have been giving it after reading reply's on these boards. I have also heard from members that they did feel pain relief after their hardware removal. I do so hope that you are also one of those lucky ones.

I don't believe that nobody but yourself can decide on your surgery. Maybe someone reading you post may have been in a similar situation and be able to give you their insight. However, I do wish you the best of luck in whatever your decision may be.
You will be in my prayers.
