Re: Surgery
Nov 10, 2005
bootsie,
I had a laminectomy surgery in 2004. They used cadaver bone/screws/rods. I was ok till I started PT. Therapist had me lift a 65 lb pallet. I had severe pain. Ever since my pain was terrible. Told my surgeon. He told me I was fine. I went about a year and a half with my surgeon telling me I was fine.My pain managment Dr had me do a flexing x-ray . One of my screws was broken. Went back to surgeon. Set me up for a Myleogram. His nurse called 2 weeks later and told me to try nerve blocks !
I had facet injections / Epidurals nothing helped the pain in my back and leg. A wonderful person on the board here ( Fly ) hooked me up with a GREAT OSS who told me after looking at my films that I had a nonunion. ( bone never healed ) Only 3 % of my fusion healed after a year and a half, He recommended another surgery to fix it. So a little over 3 weeks ago I had the surgery. I feel great so far. The only thing..I have permenant nerve damage in my leg. I have pain sitting and sleeping also. But its better than before.. GOOD LUCK.
