It can be swollen lymph nodes, a lipoma (fatty tissue), or an episacral cyst. There are so many things that it can be and every doctor will have another answer. Also, it could be a trigger point. This should give you a point of reference to start searching. :)

See if a hot pack takes away some of the pain. If it is a lipoma, it can be removed with a needle. If it is a cyst, they cut those out. If it is a trigger point, it can be massaged away. If it is swollen lymph nodes, it is a reaction to the pain.
