You might have a tumor but there are many other more likely scenarios. I have the same sort of pains and have been diagnosed with stenosis and spondylolisthesis (which is a slippage of one vertebra over another). The pain sounds like it might be coming from the sciatic nerve being pinched. If that's the case sometimes any position that causes your back to be in extension makes the pain worse...like sleeping on your stomach or doing any movement that causes your back to arch. Try to stay calm until you get the results of the MRI. See what the doctor has to say. Depending on that, you might want to see another specialist as well to get another opinion.
